As the oil gets older and dirtier, it’s less effective at keeping the engine parts lubricated. If you check your car’s oil before and after an oil change, you’ll see a color change. It’s darker, like sludge, before an oil change because of all that grime it has trapped.

Changing your oil is how you get that out of your car’s system. During an oil change, your current oil is drained out and new oil is put in. That new oil is clean, fresh, and will keep your engine healthy and running longer.
